Talk about what feeling frustrated, angry, overwhelmed and calm feels like so children can put words to their feelings.

When a child is starting to feel frustrated, angry or overwhelmed discuss this feeling with them and suggest that they might like to look at the cards to help them feel better. Eventually they will recognise this feeling themselves and use the cards without reminders.
